While it will not help everyone, particularly soldiers on active duty away from their voting precincts, a first line of defense against this MAGA plan to limit voting is for citizens to avoid using the USPS for delivering their ballots. As of January 2026 according to BallotPedia (https://ballotpedia.org/Ballot_drop_box_laws_by_state) at least 29 states permit drop-off boxes. Eleven states, all of which have predominantly MAGA state houses, prohibit drop-off boxes. The remaining ten states apparently do not address the issue. I presume, however, that in every state there is some mechanism available for disabled or absentee citizens to vote. It would be prudent for citizens in each state to inquire of their Secretary of State's Office how votes can be cast without using the USPS.
