Your words cut me to the heart...Again. You speak the truth with justice, strength and compassion. I cannot imagine how difficult it is to keep telling the truth in the face of so many lies, upon lies, upon lies.
But I can tell you that what you are saying and doing is powerful. It's true power. Real power. Blessings on you, Sir.
The January 6 insurrection was the most terrifying debacle this country has witnessed during my 76 years. My heart reaches out to yours. Your courage, commitment and real patriotism shines through. I am so sad that you were abused and battered so viciously. In the name of what? Trump’s pardons of these renegade criminals is beyond hideous. He is beyond hideous. His followers are beyond hideous.
Aquilino, I’m so sorry for everything you’ve endured. You, Michael, Harry, and Danny are the truest of American heroes, not just for your incredible bravery on Jan. 6, but also for continuing to stand up and speak out ever since. I’ve read your excellent book twice; it’s a classic and unique story of why immigration matters. Please know there are far more Americans who appreciate and support you than there are despicable MAGAt traitors. Love and respect to you, always. 🇺🇸❤️
These are the words of a true American hero! A defender of freedom and democracy. Thank you for fighting the insurrectionists, at the Capitol on January 6th, later with your testimony to Congress and with your book and this inspiring article. Those of you who held the line that day and continue to hold it now are the ones facing real danger from fascists and thugs inside and outside of the government. And I thank you, all of you, for being the warriors we need during this horrible chapter in American history.
This story broke my heart. I've never knew such hate as I have for DT and the J6ers as often overwhelms me now. But justice is not built on hate. I love these wounded officers that were left on their own to fight. I cannot look at America the same way until we build a nation of truth, justice and the America. J6ers are not patriots. I applaud the Capital Police who have suffered so much. Thank you for sharing your harrowing story Sgt. Aquilino A. Gonnell. You're a hero Ican get behinf!
Every American needs to read your account. How you continue on with all this trauma in your soul is admirable. I'm so sorry you were betrayed by the very people you were saving. It is so revolting, we are sickened by the entire Orange regime.
It was my honor to meet you, Harry Dunn, Michael Fanone, and Danny Hodges at the Lincoln Theater in DC several months ago. You men demonstrated unwavering bravery in the face of extreme physical hostility and injury in the performance of your sworn duties. You gentlemen are truly American Heroes in every sense. Thank you for your service...both times!
Thank you for so many things… for your service, your bravery, loyalty, your dedication and willingness to testify publicly even tho you know it out yet another target in your back, and for sharing your personal story. We all watched the riots in J6, and saying it was anything other than an insurrection is false and pure magical thinking.
We need to consistently remind everyone of that disgraceful day and all the immorality surrounding it. You are an American hero, and those of us who are actual patriots thank you deeply.
In the eyes of the real patriots, you and your fellow officers are heroes of the highest order. These are strange, ugly, and dangerous times, and until we are free of this criminal administration, there is much to fear. Your honor is being postponed, but clear in our eyes.. I am forever amazed at your continued faith in law & order and the constitution. Know this: Though maybe of shallow comfort right now, your sacrifice will be remembered in the history of this nation.

Thank you for this reminder. We must never forget what happened that day.

Excellently expressed. I think you captured all of the salient points in this post.

Sorry about the typos. It's "the American way", "a hero I can get behind!"

Thank you Officer. You are a great American and a patriot. I hope you get the recognition you deserve one day.
Jan 6 is the day I lost all respect for DJT & the Republican party that I had once voted for. I'll never forget that day & it's consequences.
You were so brave, and what has happened to you is so wrong. I'm terribly sorry.
