I'm so sorry. If I were a foreigner, I would not want to come here either. In fact, there are a number of Americans wanting to move to another country.

Gwenny's avatar

Yes, I'm one of those Americans. I'm thinking Sicily or Panama. I get disgusted by the day with the corruption of Trump and his fascist Administration! Go Texas Democrats for leaving for 3 weeks. It is not acceptable that these cowards bow down to this vile, evil being! Most Americans, about 87% of us, despise Donald Trump!

Dan's avatar

Then you must di something about it - all of you : take responsibility and actions speak louder than words - whether you voted for him or not : believe it or not you are all collectively responsible for Trump being there twice! Utterly pathetic - many do not see all Americans the same unfortunately - it’s not only Trump

I don’t blame you : I’m just astounded that you all did not see the signs, act , listen to the people in small towns who lost their jobs for years & years getting more angry , helpless while money was the prime motivator it seems : this is not from Trump alone and it’s years in the making - sad : you all need to take a very hard look and turn it around collectively

Bobbi: Racism and ever diminishing availability of education as opposed to training. ("Present company" excepted, sounds like.)

Cindy Scott's avatar

And those who caved to him (looking at you Columbia, CBS and Paramount) or openly support him: we remember and will not do business with them. I am boycotting them and will the rest of my life.

Melissa's avatar

Kathleen: If you go out of the country, be prepared to have a tough time getting back in. Or so I've been told. Take a copy of your birth certificate, along with originals of several recent statements/bills (utilities, rent, medical) or printouts of such, and of a few months' worth of banking transaction statements. Yikes! This ain't Kansas, Toto!

I agree. We have become convenient junkies. We have allowed our politicians (all sides) to not do the people’s work. We, The People, have been asleep at the wheel. Stay, wake up and help to change this power and greed swamp. Plenty of good people here to help do the work. You have real and understandable anger…we need you to stay and put it to work in the right channels.

Dan's avatar

You are a good person and I see that but this is the fight for your way of life : it’s time to wake the other lions and play real dirty: the cost is too high ! whoever with Trump leading this crap will do whatever so they do not lose power : Pandora’s box is open -not to alarm but this is a fight for your way of life : show your teeth ! All of you ! Marches and social media posts will not cut it

Dan's avatar

And it’s a fight for ours too : Canada will stand tall and fight that this does not happen to us

ALIx's avatar

Convenient junkies….that is brilliant🙌🏻

Julia Simmons's avatar

What normal person would want to come to an authoritarian country?

Dan's avatar

People who don’t like the system have lots of : money - they break the system because it serves everyone ( but not perfect) they want the companies to rule so they can make more more money pay less tax and forget about others like you or people that are different than them

Ok but it’s a strong motivator there with less concern for the ones that have not.. cheers

Dan's avatar

Then do something about it -together

Bob Nickerson's avatar

There but for fortune…

ALIx's avatar

We’ll i hope they don’t wanna move to my country…because their self entitled, crass and boorish culture is disgusting

Even for folks not in the travel business some have been hurt. My brother has a vacation condo in Wildwood Crest NJ. And like many he rents his place part of the year. Well bookings are down from Canadians who are a major customer for the NJ shore.

Deborah Petrina's avatar

As an Arizonan, our annual winter Canadian visitors have dropped significantly since January.

Aunty Fah's avatar

Next winter will be worse. They have to fill out a form to stay longer than 30 days. And why SHOULD they come? It isn’t safe. Arizona is a red state, even though it has Democratic Senators. Most of the state legislature is Republican. There are Trump flags everywhere. Stay away until the monsters are gone.

Gwenny's avatar

Yes, I have many Canadian friends, who own properties in the US, who are now selling them, and staying in Canada. I don't blame them at all. I love ❤️ Canada 🇨🇦

Same here in Myrtle Beach

It sounds like you’ve been hard at work creating a great business. It is shameful what Trump and his MAGA Republicans are doing to this country and to our standing in the world! His lack of diplomacy, his threatening others sovereignty, his breaking treaties and banning people from entering this country are deplorable! I completely understand why people would choose to vacation other places in this big beautiful world. I’m sorry to say but in fairness to the world, and In that same vein, I think the Olympic committee should not only ban us from participating and but not allow the US to host the Olympics. This is not a safe place and we are not guaranteeing anyone’s safety! He has lost us trust on a global scale!

Michael Rawlins's avatar

I think they are actually considering doing that Laura. And I this FIFA is considering holding the world cup just in Canada and Mexico for the same reasons.

Concerned Citizen's avatar

I agree with you regarding the Olympic Games! I think any global type games as such should go to Canada or Mexico instead of the United States. Obviously, we’ve become a Third World country and with the narcissist in charge, foreigners are in danger in coming here. I’ve worked for international companies, and I know people around the world. I feel their pain for not being able to come over to visit, but I’d rather they were safe instead.

Marcia. Downing's avatar

I agree with part of that. Don't hold it here, but, don't make our athletes pay the price for the person and his financial supportes causing our demise.

Robert's avatar

I have several close friends who have family and friends living in Europe and Asia who usually visited them in U.S. each summer. Many of them are now traveling to Canada, Mexico or the Carribean and my friends are traveling there to meet them. Best of luck in your business.

Amy's avatar

When I was recently in Australia, it was embarrassing to be an American and anyone who asked about visiting, I told them no.

Bill Lorenzo's avatar

Hi Amy, I'm a U.S. Navy veteran who was proud to serve this nation in time of war and peace. I'm still proud of my nation despite Donald Trump, who has managed to make us the laughing stock of the world. His day will come. That said, several former Navy friends of mine served onboard a U.S. Navy Aircraft Carrier that paid a good will visit to Sydney, Australia. They were treated with respect and kindness by the good people of Sydney, as well as the other sailors. When their ship left to go back to the states, many Sydney residents came to the pier to wave good-bye. There is a tradition in the Navy called Maning the Rail where sailors stand on deck, in full uniform as a ship leaves port. As a sign of respect every sailor on that deck, close to a thousand, took off their hats and threw them to the crowd. My ship paid a good will visit to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1963. I was walking through a park, in uniform, when an elderly lady approached me, threw out her arms in a hug and said: "God Bless the United States and her Navy." I will never forget that gesture as long as I live. To say I am angry and disgusted where Trump has taken our great nation is an understatement.

Amy's avatar

Thank you. I come from a long line of Army vets, my nephew was a sailor. We will overcome the challenges we're facing!

My embarrassment came from being asked how we could have elected the disgrace in the White House. The LA riots were going on when I was there, the Australian reporter who got shot was constantly on the news. Anyone who asked, my response was this is temporary.

As for the Australians, wonderful people! Friendly, welcoming, engaging.

Concerned Citizen's avatar

Amy, I ran into that in 2017. I had an opportunity to visit my company’s headquarters in Basel Switzerland, and was asked the question at that time about the narcissist and chief. I made a very clear that I did not vote for him, I did not like him, and I thought he was doing an irreparable harm to our country. I feel bad because now that I’m retired I don’t talk to them anymore. I just hope they understand that I would never support this piece of crap.

Melissa's avatar

Amy: What L.A. "riots"?

Michael Rawlins's avatar

Alex, loads of wealthy New Yorkers are moving to London. I suggest you set up a travel business in London for the Americans that come to England. Highlight all the naturally beautiful places they can visit, like the Cotswolds, the Peak & Lake Districts. North & South Wales, the Highlands of Scotland, the West country, the ring of Kerry, in South West Ireland.

Ann Higgins's avatar

Please don’t forget Devon and Cornwall.

Michael Rawlins's avatar

I did say the West country

Melissa's avatar

Michael & Alex: Friend has been at least 30 happy years in Italy with his own tour business: just himself and a periodically updated vehicle treating English- speaking visitors to the beauties, history, etc. of that country. He STILL doesn't trust his "command" of Italian (he was born deaf, but his English is just dandy). Visits here occasionally. Might give you (Alex) some ideas? (Maybe some other people also.)

LindyLoo's avatar

I don't want to be in this country now! Who wants to visit a racist regime that worships a dictator?

dave's avatar

Trump is less racist than Carter

Jape-IRL's avatar

So ridiculous. Goodbye and enjoy the kool aid.

Melissa's avatar

Dave: I'm betting you haven't read Carter's book, The Blood of Abraham. Excellent, and it might make a bit of an inroad into whatever has given you to think he was racist.

dave's avatar

I think so because his ICE raided my home when I was a kid

ALIx's avatar

Hey Dave…you and your moron friends, are the problem in yer shithole country currently…dumb as a post and gullible as shit🤬

Ann Higgins's avatar

America loving Brit here. My last visit which was what I called my “sea to shining sea” trip was 5 ½ weeks of sheer joy. There is so much more of the U.S. I should like to explore and so many more lovely Americans I should love to meet.

But not now. Not until that monster has been removed and all traces of him expunged. And if that means I never step foot on your shores again, so be it.

Rob Cantley's avatar

Very few want to LIVE in King Pedocreep's fucked up America.

Dlaindy (David)'s avatar

I got news for you dude. There are Americans that don't want to live in Trump's America.

Julie McCusker's avatar

I’m seriously looking into other countries to live although it’s not easy if you don’t have a lot of money to do that. I’m not ready to leave yet but if we can’t change things around by 2028 then I’m leaving. I grew up in England and the atrocities of the Nazis were still talked about daily. I am frightened that’s where we are headed.

Terry Castle's avatar

I can truly understand why you wouldn't want to visit the US. I really would love to move to Europe, away from this authoritarian country. I wake up every day hoping something happens to take down Trump and all his minions.

Deborah Petrina's avatar

Thank you, Home of the Brave, for bringing these types of subjects to the forefront. I love my country and feel blessed to have been born here. As a fellow American patriot, I've recently launched my own project to speak to the fabric of America, what our homeland represents, and issues that are challenging us. We need to be brave, not run, and inspire others in ways to move forward in these difficult times.

Marfro70's avatar

We don’t want to live here either

Kathy Davidson's avatar

I don’t blame you. And I’d advise you not to. This guy is so unhinged, he’s putting everybody in detention centers no matter what their status.

Xavier Jackson 🇨🇦's avatar

Canadian here, won’t visit and know a few others as well who won’t
