Help Us Expose Trump’s Free-Speech Hypocrisy
Our new six-figure ad campaign calls out Trump’s lies to his “manosphere” supporters.
Trump rode back into office on a wave of support from nontraditional constituencies that hadn’t previously thought of themselves as being part of the Republican base. This was the so-called “podcast election,” one in which “bro” influencers and manosphere talking heads wielded more sway than traditional pressure groups and legacy media.
They responded to Trump’s broad promises to protect free speech and stop the excesses of cancel culture. They believed him when he vowed to sign an executive order on day one protecting free speech. They believed him when he claimed he would “immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America.”
Now, Trump’s authoritarian actions are alienating the very people who helped him win, showing what a sham his campaign promises were.
After Jimmy Kimmel talked on his ABC show about the Charlie Kirk shooting in a way that Trump didn’t like, the administration moved swiftly to silence him. FCC Chair Brendan Carr went on a right-wing podcast to shake down Disney, ABC’s parent company, saying, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” Disney got the message and suspended Kimmel’s show within hours.
Only days later did the company do an abrupt about-face, suddenly reinstating the show, and further provoking Trump’s ire. But even with the reversal, the taste is still lingering. Previously Trump-friendly influencers with a total audience numbering in the hundreds of millions are recoiling from this frontal assault on free speech.
“Freedom of speech is more under attack now, honestly, than I think it has ever been,” said Akaash Singh, co-host of the Flagrant podcast with Andrew Schulz. “This guy said at the inauguration, ‘I’m going to pass an executive order to end government censorship.’ It seems this mother f***er lied about everything. If you are a staunch Trump guy, you should be upset about this. This is crazy.”
“I definitely don’t think that the government should be involved, ever, in dictating what a comedian can or cannot say,” Joe Rogan agreed on his podcast. “That’s f***ng crazy.”
And Tim Dillon said on his own show: “Nobody wants to live in a country where a late-night comedian is subject to removal because he says something that the president of the United States doesn’t like.”
This is the first major break between Trump and the so-called manosphere. And today we’re out with a brand new six-figure ad campaign to expose Trump’s hypocrisy.
For the next week, we’re dropping a nationwide YouTube ad campaign that will run across 28 of the biggest manosphere podcasts and shows in the country. They include Joe Rogan, Barstool Sports, Kill Tony, Lex Fridman, Theo Von, the Nelk Boys, Stephen A. Smith, Bussin’ with the Boys, Pat McAfee, Pardon My Take, Sneako, Flagrant, Tim Dillon, and more. Check out the ad here:
Maybe you haven’t heard of these shows, but today they are some of the biggest news sources in the country. Hundreds of millions of Americans—especially young men—tune in daily for their takes on the day’s news. And, as the 2024 election showed, they have a huge influence on our politics.
Now, thanks to this campaign, these audiences are going to hear all about how Trump lied to them about free speech, lied about protecting the First Amendment, and instead chose to spend his second term doing the very things he campaigned against.
There’s a lot more of this to come. As long as Trump is shredding the Constitution to ribbons and shamelessly lying to his supporters, Home of the Brave will be here to call him out and stand up against his blatant hypocrisy. Here’s our only ask: If you’re with us in this fight, consider supporting Home of the Brave today.
It would be ideal if you set up such an ad so that it could be shared readily on social media with reference back to you.
Apparently, the administration doesn't care how many demographics or individuals they lose. They have always planned to end elections anyway! Trump let it slip during the campaign: "If you vote for me you'll never have to vote again, it'll all be fixed".
