Donald Trump is Making Your Fourth of July More Expensive
And we’re dropping new ads to make sure Americans know it.
This Fourth of July, Americans are going to pay a lot more to celebrate than they’re used to. That’s no accident. It’s the direct result of the Trump administration’s policies, all of which are driving up prices on everyday staples like fuel, groceries, housing, travel, and more.
Trump’s disastrous war in Iran and his tariff regime are sending prices soaring, and it’s ordinary Americans who are paying the costs. The war choked off global oil supplies transiting the Strait of Hormuz, kicking off a months-long crisis that has fuel costs at historic highs. Meanwhile, his across-the-board tariffs have triggered a retaliatory cycle that drives up the price of groceries and other everyday items.
All of this was predictable—and predicted. And it translates into higher prices for ordinary Americans. This week, millions of Americans will travel to see their families. Airfares are way up, and large numbers of flights have been cancelled in recent months due to disruptions in the fuel supply. That means pricier tickets, plus the possibility of not getting where you’re going.
Planning a Fourth of July cookout? It’ll cost you more to fill up your car to get there, with the national gas price average hovering around $3.87. Beef, poultry, bread, fruit, and produce prices have spiked dramatically since Trump re-took office, and remain elevated. Booze? That’s more expensive, too. Even fireworks cost more. And staying home isn’t much better, with electric bills soaring just in time for the summer heat.
You can thank the Trump administration for all of that. And to ensure that Americans know who’s at fault, this week Home of the Brave launched a brand new ad campaign across the country reminding people that Trump’s policies are to blame. It’s part of our broader $15 million Sticker Shock Summer campaign, which we launched earlier this month to highlight the economic consequences of this administration’s actions.
We’re putting up this billboard in 16 states across the country. The message is simple and straightforward, and will resonate with people who are feeling the pinch this Fourth:
To drive the message home, we’re also running this video ad on YouTube and other digital platforms nationwide:
Home of the Brave exists to remind Americans of the real-world consequences of this administration’s disastrous policy agenda, and to highlight what bravery looks like in defense of American democracy. This is just one part of that effort, and we’re committed to keeping up the fight for as long as it takes. Because the Americans who are suffering under this administration deserve to know exactly why their Fourth of July is breaking the budget this year.

Wondering if you have considered a billboard campaign emphasizing how much Trump children and other members of the administration are making from the unprecedented corruption?
