I am Australian and have long wanted to come and visit a friend in Oregon. The way the US is right now, there is NO WAY I would consider coming over. I've read about George Retes' situation several times. It makes me literally sick to my stomach to hear him relate his experience in person. My one huge hope is that one day the people responsible for all of this horror can be punished for what they've done. I am Australian and have long wanted to come and visit a friend in Oregon. The way the US is right now, there is NO WAY I would consider coming over. I would no doubt get turned back at the border, it has happened to others and some of them were thrown into detention before they were sent home, too, just for having something negative to say about the regime on their social media etc!

I've read about George Retes' situation several times. It makes me literally sick to my stomach to hear him relate his experience in person. My one huge hope is that one day the people responsible for all of this horror can be punished for what they've done. Call me Megyn Kelly but what I'd really like to see happen is the ones doling out this kind of treatment have the same things happen to them so they can know what it truly feels like. Maybe then they can develop some compassion or at least feel some responsibility for the pain and suffering they've contributed to.
