Around 1999, before they really hit it big and when Mike McColgan was still the singer (I think Do or Die was released this year?) they slept on my friend's apartment floor. We all got shit-faced at the Electric Banaba bar after they played the infamous Club Laga. (At least this is how I remember it? Truth be told I was quite the whiskey drunk back then so I might be remembering it wrong.) None of them ever expected Do or Die to become one of the best-selling punk albums of the era. Mike could not handle the fame, never wanted to be someone on TV or hear his songs being played in movie and video game soundtracks. He quit the band and became a firefighter for several years.
Born proud Boston, live on Cape (fishermen). Son, born 1990, and buddies followed DKM. You’re what this area has always believed and now you’re bringing to the people. TY Your making the people stronger. Let the hypocritical fans go; you got new ones.
These guys are the best. Saw them live for the first time at the Veterans rally in DC this year. Ken, love you guys and the fearless stand you've taken against MAGA and Trump and for America. Thank you for standing up and keep doing what you're doing!
