You write as if it's "all over." It is NOT ALL OVER. The proof that these principles have NOT BEEN LOST is that there are millions and millions protesting nearly every day of the week. The mainstream media is not reporting it. Many Americans are not reaching out to others and are not realizing it. MILLIONS OF US ARE AWAKE! Let's focus on that!
Americans may be waking up. But where is action on the part of those who should be taking it?? Who hold positions designed to be a counterbalance to an out-of-control president?! Most are conspicuously silent. Why?! What do they gain from their silence and inaction in the face of Trump’s outright lies and support of ICE thuggery? The silence from those who should be voicing concern is deafening. It’s pathetic and dismaying.
If you're speaking of our illustrious elected officials (GOP especially), think again. They owe T his loyalty or they will be voted out. They love their 140-160 (House) or 150-170 (senate) days a YEAR work. They love the benefits. And it's not like they couldn't get another job, probably one with more income and better benefits in the private sector (but then they'd actually have to work more days).They are just as stuck in their worthless government job as many are stuck in their jobs. And what do they have to gain? Well, the Congress hasn't passed the Stock Buying Ban so they benefice from that. They benefit from the power they have (or think they have), they have the "superiority" of being the elite. And so forth. Basically, they're just worthless to us, their constitutents. I'm not holding my breath that they will "wake up". Remember, woke is dead!!!
No. They aren't. The fact his approval is still 40%, and nearly 50% among the gun owning demographic (at least that's the statistical implication), shows that we are too broken. If it was down to 10% and there were mass protests 10 times larger than we are seeing, maybe...
As it is, the population has become utterly numbed to the scale of horror and has readjusted its baseline so many times that nothing will shock us anymore, those who want to own the libs, and perhaps literally (in prisons or asylums or in the grave if they step out of line) are incapable of having their hatreds satiated.
