Well said, sir! Our military is run by an incompetent DEFSEC. Going off topic, maybe, what is happening onboard Lincoln is a disgrace! This disaster lands squarly on Hegseth's lap. I'm sure the Navy will be looking at low enlistments soon. I am proud of being a Navy vet and to say what is being done to my Navy by Hegseth's incompetence makes my blood boil.
I just read an article from The Intercept and the DOD has a report out that states that no civilians were killed in the boat strikes. Unbelievable…how can we even trust our military anymore? This is scary.

My father also served 23 years in the Navy during WWII and Korea. I know how hard it was for him and he never really talked about the wars. We lived off base during his last few years and he used to bring home young men who had leave, but no where to go and no money to get there. Proud daughter of a proud Navy man who finally shared his war story with me as he was close to dying. Bless you for mentoring those young sailors who probably needed you more than you’ll ever know.
Every word of this eloquent and courageous post rings true. Just imagine how an army of jacked-up bigots like Pete Hegseth would lead lower ranks, would perform in the field, would evaluate and solve problems, would develop and implement strategies and tactics!

First of all, thank you for your service. It is an admirable career and not for everyone. That’s why for me your story resonates more as you persevered, you proved your worth through actions, leadership. And you met your challenges head on. I am deeply disturbed by the actions of Sec Hegseth and after the recent article of Ukraine working with our troops and learning that we need improvement, I worry even more. And the chaos on the USS Lincoln is VERY disturbing. My Dad was in the Navy during WWII. I know he would not recognize the navy now.
It's all about Pickled Pete's inadequacies. His hyper-masculinity and has racism are because he knows he is not a better person, leader, or man than many females or people of color. LBJ said it most succinctly many years ago, before he was even a senator: "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the highest black man, you can pick his pockets!" it went on a bit, but you get the gist. Pete, as well as Trump, feel that way about anyone they find it easy to feel "better" than. They are sick, pathetic bullies.
