No Fear, No Kings

Why you need to come out to your local protest this weekend.

Authoritarianism is a cancer, and the symptoms are here. In countries where it takes hold, citizens don’t simply wake up one day and find that they’ve lost their rights. It works more sinisterly than that. Slowly, little by little, over time, our rights are eroded as the strongman asserts more and more authority over every aspect of daily life.

Until one day, it’s too late.

Here’s what’s happening in America, today:

  • Masked agents are grabbing people off the streets without due process

  • The government is threatening and prosecuting political opponents like John Bolton, James Comey, and Letitia James

  • Free speech is under attack as never before, with comedians like Jimmy Kimmel being cancelled for criticizing the regime

  • We have soldiers occupying American cities, terrorizing the people who live there

For a long time, we thought this couldn’t happen here. This all seemed like the kind of thing that happened in another place at another time: Italy in the 1920s, where fascism was born. Chile, Russia, Venezuela, Hungary—but not here.

But now, the disease has taken hold, and it’s growing. It’s a cancer, metastasizing in the body politic.

But there is a cure. It requires you.

Be part of the cure. Subscribe to Home of the Brave.

This Saturday, October 18 at the nationwide No Kings protests, Americans will stand up as never before—peacefully—for what makes America, America.

In thousands of cities across America, millions of people who care about saving democracy will show up and lift their voices against the slow-rolling cancer of authoritarianism we’re living through.

Last time, more than 5 million people showed up, and this time promises to be even bigger. Wear yellow to show a massive, united front, and find out information on your local No Kings event here.

It’s time to stand up as one and show we’re not afraid. Because a sickness of this magnitude requires an overwhelming, too-big-to-ignore response. Lift your voice and make sure you don’t sit on the sidelines of history.

Show them you’re not afraid. Do it for your country. Do it for the Constitution. For your family. For yourself. Do it for your freedom. While you still can.

Home of the Brave is a new initiative highlighting the harms of Donald Trump’s second term, and an official partner organization of No Kings.

Ahead of the protests, we ran a full-page ad in the nation’s largest newspapers and put out a video appeal by Advisory Board Member George Conway urging people to turn out.
