Someone in your position is uniquely qualified to speak to the ways in which we as a country, excelled and inspired the world in the fields of medical research and science. I’m so sorry to hear your story. Thanks to medical research, my mother survived pancreatic cancer at 77. Then at 89, lived 5 years with blood cancer.
I hate this regime, especially what they’ve done to our scientists and research. I’m trying to help out in anyway I can to get our country back to caring. I hope it can be repaired in my lifetime.

I totally understand, Harley; we probably went to college at about the same time. I wanted to study Astronomy. But then Kent State happened, and four innocent students were killed and others maimed for life all because a ruthless politician, James Rhodes, wanted to show the people of Ohio that he was tough on demonstrators. I did not participate in any of the campus activities at Ohio State, but I saw the writing on the wall for everyone studying the sciences. If the government controls the funding, they can use any knowledge they want for military goals. It would be a constant struggle for funding.
But the current story has a more serious wrinkle. The president just murdered 11 people with no process of law. How many other murders has he committed and will he commit?

While the Universe and Mother Earth continue to evolve at a sometimes imperceptible pace, (to us) we humans evolve at the rate proportional to our time spent thinking imagining and wondering. God bless R&D!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sorry that you have to endure PD. It is dedicated people like you, that made a great country that it was before Trump. My wife was diangnosed with Alzheimer's five years ago before she passed away in October, 2024. Needless to say, I lived the long goodbye until she passed . I was infuriated when I learned of the cuts Trump made to the research into cures for the disease entities you listed. I took that personally. It was to late for my wife, but think of all the other families whose loved ones with Alzheimer's, would have been helped. Trump is truly a son of a bitch!
