If You’re Reading This It’s *Not* Too Late
You haven’t given up. Neither have we.
Let’s be clear-eyed about this: We are living through a uniquely dangerous time in our country’s history.
Federal agents killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti for exercising their First Amendment rights, and we cannot trust the Department of Justice to investigate their deaths fully and fairly. The Supreme Court struck down Trump’s tariffs, and he’s bypassing Congress to reinstitute tariffs anyway. People close to Jeffrey Epstein are walking the streets freely—some are even serving as Cabinet officials. The administration’s war in Iran is putting American lives in danger and driving gas prices higher for citizens at home. The situation is dire, and many of us are fed up.
People want to know how they, as individuals, can fight back against this administration’s abuses. We understand the helpless feeling many Americans share right now. But we cannot give up hope—that’s exactly what this administration wants.
Home of the Brave is not just a newsletter. We are a nonprofit organization that works to protect our democracy and calls out the harms that this administration’s policies are causing. When you become a paid subscriber, you support our efforts to fight back. Here are some of the things we do:
Advocacy Campaigns
We launched a six-figure ad campaign that included a full page wrap of the Washington Post, delivered to every office on Capitol Hill, calling for the impeachment or resignation of Kristi Noem. One month later, Trump fired her.
We also put posters, stickers, and decals in cities around the country to express opposition to ICE’s lawlessness and other harmful policies, and to show our solidarity with people speaking out. Here are a few examples of posters we’ve done recently.
Publish the Stories of Real Americans
We collect testimonials from real people across the country who have been negatively affected by this administration’s policies. You can explore all the stories we’ve collected here. And if you’ve been harmed by our government’s policies, we want to hear from you—share your story here.
Here is an example of a story we collected from George Retes, an American citizen and Army veteran who was wrongfully jailed by ICE. He’s a hardworking husband and father, and someone who embodies the ideals of our country. This administration violated his rights, and we must call them out for it:
By documenting and publishing stories like George’s, we hope to raise alarm about how this administration’s policies are harming real people. Government policies don’t exist in a vacuum. They have real consequences, and we are bearing the cost.
What You Can Do:
Unlike this administration, we believe in honesty and transparency. When you become a paid subscriber of this newsletter, your dollars will directly support our advocacy efforts to inform Americans of the real harms this administration is causing.
We promise you, we will never hide the content we publish here behind a paywall. This project is, and always will be, for the public good. Every dollar we receive is reinvested to support everything we do, with the ultimate goals of expanding our reach and changing the harmful policies that affect your daily life.
If you’re like us, and you want to channel your frustration and energy into something real and impactful, the dollars you invest as a paid subscriber of Home of the Brave will support our efforts to strengthen American democracy, return integrity to our government, and restore our country’s standing in the world.
