we desperately need all those folks who have been "phoning it in" to wake the f up and get in the game--media comglomerates, big universities, well-positioned Republicans, slow-playing Democrats, unions, farmers, the SCOTUS, the wealthy, and so on. This country is a sleeping giant and could squish Trump like a bug--if it sets its mind to it. So far it has been kind of tepid, disorganized, counterproductive, and ineffective. Meanwhile China and Russia are sowing discord over Kirk, and of course the Right is using Kirk as a pretext for destroying the Constitution. So we are in the thick of it for SURE.

I think we have plenty of evidence as to what the right-wing oligarchs are up to, and it has nothing to do with good government, world peace, general prosperity, human decency, truth or democracy. Lying their pants off to get obscenely richer is pretty much the play, with the absolute power to keep the "masses" from ever being a "problem" and the wealth the masses produce hyper-concentrated into as few hands as possible. Laws and civil rights, democracy and freedom need not apply. They forget that tyranny ALWAYS ends...badly. We could hasten that process by making world-class, universally accessible, lifelong, 21st Century, evidence-based EDUCATION a top priority, S.T.A.T.!

Ask not what we can spare, but what we NEED to do that really well -- and sustain it. This is the one, highest yielding investment we can possibly make to "vaccinate" ourselves against the rise of authoritarian fascist would-be tyrants like Trump, et al. The other thing we can do is put a yoke, harness and reins on capitalism and make it work for ALL The People, instead of only a privileged few of them. Start by kicking business OUT of government!! Rescind "Citizens United"!!! Control or ban paid lobbying. Plug loopholes and reform taxation to reflect more reason and less greed. We Can Do This!

I don't think the average American knows just how close we are to being a dictatorship, and they need to be educated to that fact. I see people going about their day and ignoring what is going on, with the attitude that "someone" will solve it, don't bother me! I fear for my country, and, if it does fall to fascism, the world!

Now is the time to fight like hell to save our democracy from eroding further. Despite having a slim minority in the House and Senate, the Dems need to turn up the heat. It has already statrted with the Patel hearings, CDC hearings, and the Epstein hearings. Keep up the pressure and more No More Kings Days after the October No Kings Day through political action and pressure from the media.

Once TRump is gone, sooner rather than later, there needs to be a complete reform of our govermental structure starting with term limits for the House and Senate that would not make a candidate ineligible for re-election, e.g. 3 years for the House and out, 5 years for the Senate and out, the President 5 years and out, ending life time appointments for the federal judiciary. making it illegal for dark money into political campaigns i.e. ending Citizens United, restoring the Civil Service .
