I just don't get how money that's already been authorized can be arbitrarily rescinded by Congress. And they know full well the damage this will cause.

Based on the location, I'd guess that 70% or more of his neighbors, the people who listen to his radio stations, voted for Trump. Now, he's thrown them under the bus, just like a whole lot of other people who believed in him!

Kudos for your work in this public radio space. Having lived rurally most of my life, I've been a listener (and contributor) for decades.

Unfortunately, I don't think trump and the regime value anyone but billionaires now that many rural communities helped to keep him out of jail while he occupies the White House (and destroys our Country). I'm almost convinced that these multiple paths of disruption are intentional not to save money, but to deliberately cause chaos and division, making it easier to transform us into a dictatorship, with the trump crime family at the head of it.

I agree somewhat with some of the other commenters about a large percentage of poor, rural communities helping to elect him, but I think that's too simple. I appreciated NYT's (?) interview with Ro Khanna last week, and his perspective about how the con man was able to say what many rural voters wanted to believe, particularly about the economy and a two-tiered system of justice. Now, many are finding out that he had no intention of fulfilling his campaign promises to rural constituencies, while he's taking all of us down with them.

Sounds a little propagandastic--cutting out rural publicly funded radio so that the "acceptable" information pushed out the media is more prominent. It's dark shit.

May I suggest that you take this story nationwide with a crowd source funding group? Go into detail like you did with your statement here and perhaps you might get peeps to become engaged and donate. My heart goes out to those who need to rely on fast news in an emergency and there’s none left.

Came here to say this. Not to seem uncaring, but the poorest states keep voting for candidates who, at the first opportunity, cut funding for programs they need the most. Maybe more education regarding what’s in their best interests is needed.

That’s a goal of this initiative— to get stories like this out, told in a conversational, approachable way. So people who aren’t into policy or “politics” can get it. No one wants to be lectured or talked down to — yet too often that’s how it feels to a lot of people. I’d like to encourage more people to tell and share these stories. If knocking the voters who got us into this mess would get us out of it, we would have already BEEN out of it years ago.

I refer you to “About” section in the Home Of The Brave bio. There are already a lot of places to express anger and frustration at people who supported Trump/Trumpism. Home Of The Brave was created to amplify stories that may connect with these people. I think it’s well worth a try, but reasonable people may differ.
