CBS News and CNN soon to be getting the WaPo treatment by their oligarch owners. It is deeply disturbing and shameful.

The only honorable thing left for Bezos would be to sell the Post for a buck to the WaPo staff, so that they can continue to uphold the Post's standards, and he would be free from having to kiss Trump's ass. A win for both sides, and pocket change for him—plus he can get a huge tax write-off for it. If he needs it.

I've been dispirited by the insipid Post news coverage, but I'm not rooting for its demise, nor am I undisturbed by the possibility it will sink into irrelevance. A healthy democracy requires a vigilant media. Alternative online news sources are filling some of the gaps from declining traditional newspapers, but it is getting harder and harder to know what's the truth and algorithms are feeding me more of what I already believe. Meanwhile, the emergence of Ellison's new media behemoth, combining major movie studios, streaming platforms (Paramount+ and Max), and television/cable networks including CNN, HBO, TNT, TBS, Nickelodeon, and MTV, does not auger well for the future.

This punk is just getting started. Wait until he teams up with Thiel and Musk and decides to turn off the utilities.

The idea that if one has a billion dollars one must be extra smart is so far off, almost the punchline of a poor joke. Bezos the billionaire afraid of trumpy the would-be billionaire? Give me a break. However with both of these empty headed self-centered "men" the problem is the same... the country and its citizenry are left to fade into unimportance. For shame. But all that will change... it always does. When the cycle/karma/?? comes around Bezos and trumpy will be left in the "who cares" side of the ledger. Think after the Great Depression, whatever happened to H. Hughes, Paul Getty, and of course then president Hoover. All gone, all forgotten. As mentioned, karma.

I canceled my Post subscription. They are begging people to re-up, at obscenely low subscription rates. They are flailing. Sad.
